When I think about Charlotte & Neil’s wedding day, I get a teensy bit emotional. I still remember Charlotte’s phone call in February last year, to tell me that her and Neil wanted me to be their Iscoyd Park Wedding Photographer. I could really sense that their wedding photography meant the world to them and that it had been a huge decision for them. In one of her initial emails Charlotte said: “I just absolutely adore your pictures and style. I have looked at many photographers websites/blogs and never felt a connection with the images like I have with yours”…gulp…
Along with booking the wedding venue of their dreams, they wanted someone to capture all the little details, wonderful moments and their never ending love for each other. That person ended up being me and I am very grateful that Charlotte & Neil put their trust in me, because this wedding turned out to be one of my all time favourite weddings. Not only were Charlotte & Neil incredibly warm & sweet, but their family and friends invited me into the day with open arms and together, we had a blast!
Iscoyd Park Wedding Photographer:
More about the day in Charlotte’s own words: “The vision was a beautiful, sophisticated and classic wedding day. We planned a thoughtful and intimate ceremony, with a delicious wedding breakfast (seven courses) followed by an unexpected twist in the evening in the form of ‘cocktail hour’. Iscoyd Park was the perfect venue and we fell in love with it the minute we drove up to the front door. There is something about this place that makes you feel at home and we knew that our guests would feel that too. The unique charm has a nostalgic sense of history behind the walls and is the perfect backdrop for the grand affair we envisaged!
As an editorial wedding photographer with a penchant for pretty details & beautiful flowers bathed in gorgeous natural light, this wedding was a feast for my eyes. Charlotte & Neil put their own unique stamp on Iscoyd Park, from the beautiful stationery, to the elegant table decor to the champagne tower they poured for their guests, to Frank the Flamingo on the dance floor during cocktail hour. Everything was perfect and a real treat to capture.
I read Charlotte’s email while I was abroad photographing a wedding in Italy and her kind words nearly had me in tears: “I have finally come back to earth and managed to put pen to paper to express how overwhelmed we are with our wedding pictures. I have never looked at myself in my entire life and felt as beautiful as I do when I look at your pictures….they made me cry the first time I saw them. You have managed to capture the love and joy we felt on the day and put it into images which we will cherish for the rest of our lives. How you did this when there is one of you I do not know!! We are absolutely delighted, I have so many favourites…thank you for your hard word, kindness and just being ‘you’ on our special day. Both Neil and I agree that the wedding was made all the more special having you, and now these photographs, as part of the day.”
Now before I actually start crying, below are quite a few of my favourites from the day. Charlotte & Neil…thank you. You are absolute treasures and I will cherish the memories of your wedding day forever.
