This is a very special blog post. Tam & Mackers are very close friends of mine and I’m so excited about their wedding next April in South Africa. I first met Tam in London, back in 2006, and with both of us being from Jo’burg originally, we had a lot in common and hit it off from the start. Fast forward 8 years and Tam is now engaged to Mackers, who couldn’t be a more perfect match for my wonderful friend.
You know when you watch two people and they fit together so well you almost can’t imagine them ever not having been a couple? That’s what I feel like when I look at these two. When they got engaged earlier this year, I thought what better Engagement present, than an pre-wedding shoot to capture their essence as a couple. As London itself forms a central part of their story, they chose it as the location for the shoot. They met for the first time at a New Years Eve party in South London and the rest is sweet, sweet history!
I’ve done quite a few shoots around South Bank and Westminster and every single one is different. Each couple bring their own unique “vibe” to the shoot and Tam & Mackers, were no different. They are so relaxed & natural around each other that we could have carried on shooting for hours if the sun hadn’t set! We had been waiting quite a while for the perfect sunny afternoon to make the most of that beautiful golden light which I love so much, and it finally happened in early November. So as the sun dipped behind London town, we wandered along South Bank down to the Millennium Bridge and ended off next to the Tate before going for a well deserved dinner.
It was an absolute pleasure capturing Tam & Mackers – one of the most loving, easy-going and ‘fun to be around’ couples I know. I love you so much you two, and can’t wait to party with you in the Drakensberg next April.
A big thank you to Mr M who shooed off tourists on Westminster Bridge while we were trying to shoot. You rock my world (as always)! :-)
Enjoy the post and leave the happy couple some love in the comment section at the end, if you’d like to!
