On a gorgeous day in August, Gemma & Sam tied the knot at Hampton Court House – an incredible wedding venue which I would recommend to any and all couples looking for a relaxed and versatile venue with great food, beautiful grounds & access to Bushy Park for stunning couple portraits. I loved shooting here and when Di – lovely Hampton Court House wedding coordinator showed me around a few days before the wedding, I had the chance to meet Layla (below) – Hampton Court House mascot & guard dog – isn’t she beautiful? Hampton Court House is actually a school during the week and I bet the kids love her!
Gemma & Sam’s creativity and flair for detail really showed in their overall vintage theme for the day. They had vintage crockery on the tables, old wedding photos of their parents and a vintage typewriter for guests to type up little messages and leave them in an old suitcase for Gemma & Sam to read later. The subtle vintage theme was quirky and fun but both Gemma & Sam’s outfits had a modern twist – Gemma looked breathtaking in her Ronald Joyce wedding gown & Sam very handsome in his blue Marc Wallace suit. Dawn did a fantastic job with the wedding flowers & Gemma’s bouquet was made up of vintage buttons and 5 pastel colour flowers which matched the bridesmaids dresses perfectly. Their quirky wedding cake from Choccywoccydoodah tied in with the theme and had a really cute chocolate teapot on top with the words to their favourite song – “Home” by Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros written on the cake: “Home is wherever I’m with you“. The day was filled with sunshine, laughter, wonderful speeches, and countless incredible moments to capture and it made me realise again how much I love being a photographer! A big thanks to my lovely friend Yolande for shooting with & assisting me on the day.
Gemma & Sam it was nothing but an absolute pleasure getting to know you both in the short time we spent together for your engagement shoot & wedding. I wish you many, many years together filled with “barefoot Summer nights” and more adventures than you can dream of!
