Gemma and Chris tied the knot on the first Saturday in August at St Jude’s in Englefield Green and it was a glorious day from start to finish! Their wedding reception took place at one of my favourite wedding venues, Great Fosters – Luxury Country Hotel in Egham, Surrey. While their family & friends enjoyed canapes & champagne in the garden, we nipped away for their couple portraits in the sunshine. We had a great time exploring the gardens – filled with purple flowers in bloom, which just happened to match Gemma & Chris’ wedding colours perfectly. As the sun started to set, their guests made their way into the gorgeous Tithe Barn for the wedding breakfast. Decorated with hundreds of fairy lights, gorgeous purple floral arrangements and fresh lavender on the tables, the barn looked amazing. Having travelled all over the world together, Chris & Gemma decided to name their tables after all the amazing places they’ve been to which have special meaning to them. They had silly photos of each guest as the place cards and seeing guests react when they walked into the barn and spotted their own photo, was hilarious!
To me, Gemma & Chris’ day was perfect in every way. It was so special & fun sharing the day with them and their guests and it was lovely to shoot my second wedding at Great Fosters. A big thank you to my wonderful friend Yolande for shooting with & assisting me on the day. Gemma & Chris thank you for being so amazing to work with. I loved doing your Engagement Shoot earlier this year and your wedding day was an absolute pleasure to photograph. I read this quote by J.R.R Tolkien recently and it made me think of you guys and your wanderlust:
“I am looking for someone to share in an adventure that I am arranging, and it’s very difficult to find anyone“….
I’m really happy for you both that you found each other and that I was able to share your wedding adventure with you. I wish you both an incredible journey together as husband & wife, filled with brand new adventures!
“A kiss is a lovely trick designed by nature to stop speech when words become superfluous” – Ingrid Bergman couldn’t have said it any better!
