Last Sunday I travelled down to Rye to exhibit at The George in Rye Wedding Open Day. The George is a gorgeous boutique hotel in East Sussex. If you haven’t been there yet, you need to make sure you book a weekend away at this south coast gem. I have shot at The George a few times now and always enjoy my visit. Click here for some wedding inspiration shot in the Georgian Ballroom & Benson Room and here for a look around the hotel & Rye.
The Wedding Open Day was an opportunity to have a chat with couples who will be tying the knot at The George in future as well as couples who wanted to have a look around The George to see if this could be the venue for them! With delicious canapes and champagne, couples could wander around the venue and have a chat with some of the wedding suppliers, recommended by The George. We set up in The Georgian Ballroom, which really is one of the most beautiful wedding reception rooms I have ever shot in. With abundant natural light, gorgeous silk-painted wall paper and elegant chandeliers, it is the perfect backdrop for an elegant wedding.
Here are a few photos I took of my stand, as well as some of the other lovely suppliers exhibiting at The Wedding Open Day. Enjoy the post and get in touch if you’re planning to tie the knot at The George in Rye.
Gorgeous bouquets by Katherine from Florist in the Forest (above).
Another gorgeous bouquet by Florist in the Forest (below) and fun giant balloons by Claire de Bloon.
Delicious champagne and canapes for our lovely couples.
Stationery by Millbank and Kent (on the left).
Loved this bicycle wheel table plan by Millbank and Kent (above)
More gorgeous blooms by Florist in the Forest (above & below). Matt Maurice Discotheque Couture created some
ambience with chilled background music and added glamour to the room with gorgeous “LOVE”
light up wedding letters on the dance floor.
And of course no wedding fair is complete without incredible wedding cakes. Liz from Sylvia’s Kitchen (above & below)
had yummy sample at her stand & plenty of advice on all things cake.
Beautiful blooms by Kim from The Flower House Mayfield (above).
More stationery by Millbank and Kent and giant balloons by Claire de Bloon (above).
The above framed wedding portraits is still one of my all time favourite images, taken at Jess & Marcus’ wedding at
The Great Barn in Devon back in 2012.
The glamorous sequin tablecloth on my stand was from Gilded Linens.
