This past weekend I had the pleasure of photographing Hayley & John’s amazing outdoor blessing & tipi wedding reception in Suffolk. The week before, we met up for a chat and a stroll around Borough Market & London Bridge. Hayley & John had their civil ceremony in June so their Engagement Shoot was actually more of a “Just Married” shoot!  Hayley is a very talented hair & make up artist  and I love her effortless style, she looked absolutely stunning on their wedding day this past weekend and as with her London couple shoot outfit, it was pretty with a hint of glamour and most of all, 100% Hayley (watch this space for their wedding photos soon!)

 

Their couple shoot embodies everything I love about doing London couple shoots – they had a good time, we got on really well and I was able to capture their natural and fun interaction with each other, which really shows their personalities. For me, a couple shoot should be all about creating images which really reflect the couple’s style and I like using interesting and sometimes colourful backdrops to tell their story. Borough Market is a great spot, even though it can be a tad busy and of course the walk down to Tower Bridge through Potters Fields Park is beautiful, especially with early evening light behind the trees. I also like including editorial type images of little details – in this case Hayley’s gorgeous clutch bag and John’s brand new leather brogues which he bought for the wedding. Add these together with the rest of the shoot and a little London love story takes shape.
