Lauren & Ken tied the knot during the Queen’s Jubilee weekend and despite the rain, their day was perfect! The theme for their wedding was whimsical romance inspired by Lauren’s favourite illustrator – Rob Ryan. The look & feel for their wedding was colourful, creative and full of DIY touches which they wanted their guests to remember for years to come. During their funfair Engagement Shoot, Lauren & Ken told me all about the decorations they were making themselves and I honestly couldn’t wait for the wedding!
I love it when couples put a lot of thought into the wedding details and what they want their guests to remember, and the colourful pom-poms, wooden trees on the tables, cut out wedding bells down the aisle and the awesome bird cake topper, definitely represented their fun, colourful personalities & love of a good celebration . I especially loved the bird cake topper which they had made themselves and the guest pin badges, which they had in jars on the tables, instead of traditional wedding favours (I got one that said “I love weddings” – true!). On top of all that, they used a suitcase covered in travel stickers as their guestbook so guests could write messages on postcards to send them on their adventure…about to begin. Next to the suitcase they had their Engagement Shoot photos on display on an I Pad with a really cool pink cover, which I thought was a really nice touch.
A big thanks to Sophie at the Talbot Inn for looking after me (the seabass was amazing), Karen – Lauren’s Maid of Honor who was on hand to help the day run smoothly (and gave a brilliant MOH speech) and John the MC for keeping me watered & helping the group photos run smoothly. Most of all an enormous thank you to Lauren & Ken who are two wonderful people, filled with so much love for each other, their friends & family. It was an absolute pleasure covering your Engagement Shoot & Wedding day and I wish you lots of romance for your adventure together! A little note from gorgeous bride Lauren:
“Hey Anneli, we arrived home from honeymoon at the weekend, we had a wonderful time, and even better, our wedding photos were waiting for us! They are brilliant, I love them, Ken and I are extremely happy, you did an amazing job and everyone has complimented your photos and your demeanour on the day. We were so relieved that the rain didn’t affect us too much. It’s so nice to see how much people seemed to enjoy themselves as well. I’ve started to pick my favourites but it’s not easy!! I feel a bit sad that we won’t be seeing you anymore, but we’ll be recommending you to all our friends, so you never know! All the best, Lauren x”
Love the shot above taken just after Karen caught the bouquet! A little note from Karen – Lauren’s best friend and Maid of Honor:
“Hey Anneli, I’ve just been looking through Lauren and Ken’s pictures and just wanted to message to say they are truly amazing! I knew they would be, but to see them all now has just brought tears to my eyes. You have captured every single moment and the whole essence of what the wedding was about. Incredible. Love love love them! Now to decide which ones to get printed! PS. I recommended you to a friend who’s getting married next year this week…and if Joe and I decide on a UK wedding or even just a UK gathering to celebrate I’ll most definitely know who to hire!”
