You might remember Ali & Charles from their gorgeous, colourful E Shoot in Greenwhich Market back in March…well, when Ali emailed me photos of her dress in February, I started getting excited….very excited! Their May wedding was set to be a stylish London celebration in the heart of the Docklands, with every detail of the day planned to Ali & Charles’ taste. The theme: art deco chic. The setting: Tompkins Canary Wharf – an über-stylish new restaurant and bar, designed with the great steak houses and brasseries of New York City in mind, set in the heart of the Docklands. The furniture in the main bar, lounge and mezzanine is a mix of styles and periods, from 1950’s leather sofas to glossy black lacquer tables – relaxed yet very eclectic! Ali’s art deco theme complemented the Tompkins setting perfectly and could be seen in every detail – from her ‘save the date’ invites, to the wedding cake design and the ‘Dancing Couple Brooch by Butler & Wilson’, to the table numbers and place names design to the little orchids on the tables & her gorgeous dress – every detail a feast for the eyes!

On the morning of the wedding, I joined the relaxed bride at The Britannia International Hotel a short walk from the venue. I can honestly say, this was one of the most relaxed and fun bridal prep shoots I have done – Ali had scented candles burning, Laurent Perrier Rose on ice, Pink Marc de Champagne Truffles being dished out and chilled out music playing. If I didn’t know any better, I would have said she had done this all before, lol (which she hasn’t)! Needless to say I was very impressed and it certainly set the relaxed tone for the rest of the day. Charles arrived a few hours later, and started getting ready in the room above Ali’s. He had been sending her romantic text messages all morning and when I went upstairs to see him and saw the smile on his face, I nearly started crying – he really couldn’t wait to marry his beautiful bride!
