Marike & Anthony became husband and wife on a beautiful summers day in the Cape Winelands, surrounded by the Simonsberg and Drakenstein Mountains. They chose Zorgvliet Wine Estate in the Banghoek Valley, Stellenbosch as the setting for their stylish & elegant wedding day and invited me to capture the festivities. As a Stellenbosch wedding photographer for international brides, it was great getting to know Marike & Anthony a little bit – having lived in London for a few years and then decided to make the move back to South Africa, it was really interesting hearing all about their London adventures & other travels.

Marike was an absolutely stunning bride and her dress from Lady Marmalaide in Johannesburg looked like it had been designed just for her! Anthony made a dashing groom in his grey suit & black tie and together, the Wilsons owned Zorgvliet!
I loved how relaxed the day was I know it was important to Marike & Anthony that their guests have a good time and enjoy their very laid back wedding celebrations. Zorgvliet is an incredibly beautiful venue and we were spoilt for choice when it came to the couple portraits – Cape Dutch architecture, vineyards, mountains and gorgeous light. What more could you ask for? Listening to the speeches later that evening, I realised how much their friends & family care about and love them and I can definitely see why. Marike & Anthony is one of the loveliest couples I’ve ever met and I feel very blessed to have been able to play a role in the very first day of the rest of their lives as Mr & Mrs Wilson.
