I love doing London Couple Shoots and over the last couple of years, I’ve been very fortunate to do quite a few! These have been a combination of Engagement Shoots for couples who live in the UK and love London (what’s not love!!), to couples who live outside of the UK but fly here to have a romantic shoot done around London’s most famous landmarks. London truly is a city of so many love stories and personally, I think having a couple shoot in this wonderful city must be the best way to capture the places where some of your memories as a couple were created, in a relaxed and informal way. When I look through the London couple shoots I’ve done, whether it was strolling around Greenwich Market or taking photos on South Bank with Big Ben in the background, I feel very lucky to have this wonderful city with its interesting nooks & crannies as a blank canvas for each shoot I do.
What’s also great about doing London couple shoots, is that no two are ever the same, every couple is different, with a different story, bringing their own little bit of magic to the shoot.
Richard & Katya was no exception! Living in Russia, they flew over to the UK to finish planning their August 2012 wedding. While they were here we did their London couple shoot, which was a lovely treat for Katya (Russian) and a nice way for Richard (English) to explore London again after being away for a few years. We started at St. Paul’s Cathedral and made our way down to the South Bank of the Thames River, during which time we must have experienced all four seasons. We finished the shoot on Westminster Bridge just as the skies opened and rain came pouring down, leaving us to run for cover, which was fun! I had a great time getting to know Richard & Katya and beautiful London, yet again, gave me so much to work with!
Richard & Katya, thanks for sharing the afternoon with me. I’m really happy to hear that you love your photos and I look forward to seeing you in August at the wedding.
A little not from Richard & Katya: ” Hi Anneli, thanks again for the great photos and for being kind enough to put them on your blog – it’s a great way for us to share the photos with our family and friends particularly as we are now back on Sakhalin which is a long way from London! We loved the way you used the London landmarks, which for some may be a hoary old theme, but it suited our requirements exactly and the composition of the photos was fantastic. I particularly liked the photo outside St. Paul’s with the searing columns and Katya’s favourite was the postbox photo (clever use of your logo by the way!). We were delighted with all of the photos, though. Thanks again and see you in August:-)”
