Brooklands Hotel Bridal Fashion Shoot – {Part 2: Modern Glamour}

Happy Friday everyone! This morning I’m posting Part 2 of the Brooklands Hotel Bridal Shoot! If you haven’t had a chance to check out Part 1: 1920s inspired Hollywood Glamour, make sure you do by clicking here. As mentioned yesterday we had a whole host of very talented wedding vendors involved in the shoot and without each and every one of them, the shoot would not have happened! You can read through the list of suppliers at the end of the post.

When Louise from stylish wedding blog Bijoux Bride and I first started talking about the shoot, we decided that we should have two seperate looks, to be modeled by two seperate models. Amanda, our blonde bombshell was perfect for the 1920s inspired Hollywood vintage look, and wearing dresses from Caroline Atelier and Johanna Johnson, she was an absolute vision of golden age glamour. For dark haired Philippa we had something different in mind – Modern Glamour – two looks to inspire brides-to-be who want something a little bit different, to glam up their wedding day look with modern, statement hair & make-up and dresses with that “wow” factor! So today, it’s Phil’s turn to shine on the blog!

Look 1: A modern Greek goddess, with big hair and gorgeous accessories from Flo & Percy to complete the look – I especially love the Chaplin cuff she’s wearing. Kim Roy worked her magic to give Phil statement hair and did an amazing job – I totally bow to the power of back combing!!

The first image below was published in the Luella’s Boudoir section of The Luxury Wedding Show 2011 Lookbook:

I love the shots in the spa at Brooklands Hotel against the wall underneath pools of light – such a gorgeous setting! I might have to go and try out that spa for myself sometime! Louise and Gayle worked their magic on the table styling & flower arrangements – and the pieces from Rowen & Wren added a touch of understated glamour to the tables. The name cards from Knots & Kisses were just gorgeous – also love the black lace on the invitation card!

Look 2 was always going to be the “out there” look for the day. Phil rocked the shorter wedding dress (Maude from Luella’s Boudoir) which was from the Charlotte Casadejus Blanc 2011 collection. This dress really is like something out of a modern day fairy tale: “A feminine and beautiful combination of softest gold flecked tulle and delicate flowing petal skirt. Off-white sand-washed silk, boned corset under draped ivory tulle with subtle gold flecks featuring vintage diamante detail at the shoulder and vintage trim to waist. The a-line skirt is covered with hundreds of divine tulle petals and subtly placed sequins. The slight train to the back adds to the dramatic effect of maude. a truly heavenly dress“. And heavenly it was! We decided to give the dress some edge by giving Phil big hair…no HUGE hair actually, statement eyes and gorgeous dark red lips and it looked phenomenal! Gayle put together a gorgeous red bouquet for us and the scene was set! I have to say there is something almost a little bit “Black Swan” about Look 2 with the red lips and statement eyes, and Phil pulled it off with lost of style and attitude!

What an awesome setting – Brooklands has so much to offer – the fantastic mirrored wall in the lounge, the fabulous round couch in the Luxury suite and the balcony (with the Mercedes Benz World race track in the background) made for such strong backgrounds. A big thank you again to Brooklands for letting us take over the hotel for the day.

And that’s the end of the post – hope you’ve enjoyed it! Click here to see Part 1: 1920s inspired Hollywood Glamour again and below is the behind the scenes video in case you missed it yesterday!
