One of my goals for 2011 is to do a “concept shoot” every month. It’s a great way to keep my creative juices flowing and also team up with other creative souls out there! So I started thinking…what would be the first shoot of 2011? Before I knew it an idea started forming in my head…why not do a bridal shoot with my own Pronovias wedding dress?? Ever since the moment I saw the dress in a Pronovias advert in Cosmo Bride, I knew “this was the one”. Needless to say Pronovias dresses don’t come cheap and I had already saved up my maximum budget to spend on my wedding dress, so you can imagine how shocked I was when a few months after seeing a photo of the dress, I walked into a sample sale in Kensington and the dress was hanging on the rail, in my size and marked down to my exact budget in the sample sale. When I slipped it on and it fit like it was made for me…my heart sang and I fell in love. SO….too gorgeous to just hang in my closet gathering dust after our wedding in December 2009, I decided to get it out for a few more ‘moments in the sun’ (literally!) Living in Surrey, we are surrounded by beautiful fields & forests – the perfect setting for a ‘model bride’ and some fun props. So I decided to use the field behind our house, where a few horses live (tip: horses do not like balloons!) as well as Oxshott Common, a short drive from my house. My lovely friend Lisa agreed to be my model for the day and I’m sure you’ll agree, made a stunning model bride! Big thanks to Lisa and my wonderful assistant & entertainerTammy for making the shoot happen! Without further ado, get ready for your fix of lollipops, cotton candy coloured balloons, cupcakes, pink birds and lots of lens flare!!
I thought it would be nice to end off this post with a photo of us on our wedding day…and of course the dress that made me feel like a princess!
